Dr. Omar Mohammad Abdullah Al-Ansari

Dr. Omar Al Ansari is President of Qatar University, and an academic leader with a distinguished career at Qatar University. After obtaining his PhD in Civil Engineering from Texas University in 1999, he began his journey at Qatar University as a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Al Ansari demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and was entrusted with various administrative roles. In 2003, he was appointed as the Dean of Student Affairs, assuming responsibility for shaping the student experience and fostering a supportive campus environment. Building on his success, he was promoted to the position of Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs in 2004, further expanding his impact on student-related initiatives.

Dr. Al Ansari's served as the Vice President for Student Affairs from 2007 to 2015. During his tenure, he spearheaded transformative advancements in digital platform systems that managed student information. His approach and dedication to innovation led to the development of a robust information system for employees, positively influencing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the university's administrative processes.

In 2017, Dr. Omar Al Ansari was appointed Deputy to the University President for Academic Affairs, where he played a pivotal role in implementing university projects, including the development and execution of Qatar University's comprehensive academic plan. With a keen eye for organizational excellence, he reviewed and refined the academic sector's structure, culminating in the establishment of a deanship for general studies. Additionally, he created key positions such as Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Planning and Quality Assurance and Assistant to the Vice President for Faculty Affairs, further bolstering the university's commitment to academic excellence.

Driven by his commitment to enhance teaching and learning practices, Dr. Al Ansari led the development process of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning. His visionary leadership ensured that teaching methods aligned seamlessly with Qatar University's mission and strategy, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and academic distinction.

Beyond his institutional contributions, Dr. Omar Al Ansari actively engages in national committees, lending his expertise to shape the future of education. He serves on committees such as the Advisory Committee for Higher Education, the Advisory Council for Qatar Leadership Academy, and the Advisory Council for the PhD program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. His membership in various associations and unions related to education and engineering fields further attests to his dedication to professional development and the advancement of these disciplines.

As a distinguished representative of Qatar University, Dr. Al Ansari participates in numerous official and international forums. His presence in these gatherings ensures that Qatar University's vision, achievements, and expertise are recognized on a global scale.

Mr. Saleh bin Majid Al-Khulaifi

Saleh Majid Al-Khulaifi is the Deputy Undersecretary for Industrial Affairs and Business Development at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Qatar. He is actively involved in driving industrial development, fostering entrepreneurship, and attracting foreign direct investment to shape Qatar's economic landscape.

Drawing on his extensive experience, Mr. Al-Khulaifi has held key positions in both the public and private sectors. Notably, he served as the Executive Director of Business Intelligence and Localization at Qatar Development Bank (QDB), where he spearheaded strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening domestic industries and promoting entrepreneurship.

In addition to his role at QDB, Mr. Al-Khulaifi has made substantial contributions to several governmental boards, including the Investment Promotion Agency and Qatar Incubation Center. He also serves as the Chairman of the Qatari German Medical Devices company and is a Member of the Board of Directors for ELAN Media. Furthermore, Mr. Al-Khulaifi is an active participant of the World Economic Forum's Global Shaper program.

Academically, Mr. Al-Khulaifi holds a Master of Science degree in Technology Entrepreneurship (MSc) from the University College London. He also completed his undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, earning a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Saleh bin Hamad bin Jaber Al Sharqi

Saleh bin Hamad bin Jaber Al Sharqi currently serves as the Director General of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Mr. Al Sharqi’s journey in the Qatar Chamber began on February 1, 1999. Throughout his tenure, Al Sharqi held various senior managerial and executive positions until he was appointed as the General Manager.

Saleh is entrusted with various responsibilities that contribute to the Qatar Chamber’s success and the country's economic development. He formulates and implements effective strategies aligned with the economic environment and the country's development goals.

Mr. Al Sharqi evaluates the impact of trade relations between Qatari business communities and their counterparts worldwide, facilitating the growth of international business opportunities in Qatar. Moreover, he manages financial resources and human capital within the Qatar Chamber, ensuring their development and reporting requirements to the Board of Directors and the General Assembly.

As a representative of the private sector, Saleh fosters close relationships with government authorities and relevant stakeholders, working to incorporate private sector requirements in legislation and policy development. He also actively contributes to official conferences and events, advocating for the interests of the business community.

Additional Official Positions

In addition to his role as the General Manager of the Qatar Chamber, Saleh holds several other high-level positions. He is the Chairman of the “Made in Qatar” Exhibition Committee , Chairman of the Resources and Events Committee, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the GCC Commercial Arbitration Center, and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Commercial Arbitration Center for the GCC Arab Gulf Countries.

He also serves as a Member to the Board of Directors for several entities, including:

• Joint Arab-British Chamber,

Saleh Al Sharqi is also a Member of the Executive Leadership Committee of the Federation of GCC Chambers, and a Member of the Minimum Wage Committee.

Mr. Al Sharqi also spearheaded two editions of  the "Made in China" expo, strengthening economic and trade relations between Qatar and China.

Academically, Saleh holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, which he obtained in 2012. In 2014, he earned a master’s degree in business administration.

Eng. Badr Mohammad Abdul Karim Al-Mir

Badr Mohammed Al Meer is a name synonymous with excellence in the aviation industry. As the Chief Operating Officer of Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha, Qatar, he has propelled the airport to win numerous prestigious global awards since assuming the role in June 2014.

With over 15 years of industry experience, Al Meer has established himself as a prominent figure in Qatar's development landscape. He has held executive positions and served on the boards of major development projects in the fields of aviation, construction, and project management.

In his role as the Chief Operating Officer of HIA, Al Meer oversees and leads crucial businesses within the Qatar Airways Group. He plays a pivotal role in the expansion project of Hamad International Airport, ensuring its continuous growth and success. Additionally, he is responsible for the management and operations of a diverse portfolio of projects under MATAR (Qatar Company for Airports Management and Operations), including Qatar Duty Free, Qatar Aviation Services, Qatar Aviation Catering Company, Qatar Distribution Centre, Dhiafatina, and the group's capital projects.

Al Meer holds degrees in Engineering from the American University of Beirut and the University of Colorado. Armed with a solid technical foundation and a deep understanding of large-scale project development, he brings a wealth of business experience to WISA as a valuable member of the board.

Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa

Mohammed Abdulla Al-Khalifa currently holds the position of Director of General Services at Al Jazeera Media Network and is a member of the Board of WISA. 

Mr. Al-Khalifa earned a Bachelor's degree in Economy Management with a specialization in Accounting from the Faculty of Administration and Economy in Qatar in 1997.

Mr. Al-Khalifa began his career as an Accounts Auditor and Financial Controller at the Audit Bureau, where he served from August 1998 to September 2006.

Following this, Mr. Al-Khalifa took on the role of Chief Financial Officer of the Qatar Project for the Reconstruction of Southern Lebanon from September 2006 to August 2007. He then served as the Financial Controller of the Seventh Doha Cultural Festival from September 2007 to July 2008.

From July 2008 to August 2009, Mr. Al-Khalifa assumed the role of Manager of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Institute of Administrative Development. Subsequently, he became the Director of Administrative and Financial Projects of the institute from September 2009 to February 2010.

From February 2010 to March 2011, Al-Khalifa held the position of Manager of Planning and Development at the Institute of Administrative Development. He then served as the Director of Human and Financial Resources at the institute from March 2011 to October 2013.

In August 2013, Mr. Al-Khalifa joined Al Jazeera Media Network as the Manager of Human Resources Services.  Since July 2014, he has been serving as the Director of General Services at Al Jazeera Media Network.
